Bryan Carrier, Youth Director
cell: 478-951-1346
Bryan Carrier was born in Michigan, where his father was stationed for the Air Force. When he was three his family, moved to Warner Robins, where they settled. Bryan attended church as a child, but did not really understand what church was about. In 9th grade, he was invited to attend a youth retreat. Though he went on the trip in the hopes of getting a girlfriend, the Lord had other plans for him. It was there that he realized his need for a Savior and began his relationship with Christ.

Bryan knew that the Lord was calling him into ministry, but he did not know if it would be music ministry or youth ministry, as he has a passion for both. He went to Macon State College (now Middle Georgia University) and got his associates in Music. Then the Lord called him into youth ministry specifically. He went to Toccoa Falls College and earned his Bachelor’s in Youth Ministry with a minor in Bible and Theology. It was there that he met his wife, Michelle - the Music Director of Oakland Baptist Church. While youth ministry is his main calling, it’s clear that the Lord’s plan involved music ministry as well.

Bryan teaches math at Warner Robins High School, his alma mater. He sees teaching as an extension of youth ministry, giving him more opportunities to minister to teenagers. He believes in having fun and is not ashamed to wear a leprechaun costume or cardboard armor if it adds to his ministry somehow. He is passionate about teaching youth to be thinking Christians, so that they can understand and stand firm in the Word of God, no matter what comes.
