Johann Sebastian Bach said, “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.”

Michelle Carrier was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She lived in Broadway, Virginia for 10 years where her father pastored a small Southern Baptist Church. After this, he joined the Army as a full-time Chaplain, which meant many moves around the world.

When Michelle was a young child, she heard a song on the radio that talked about the need for Christ. The Lord used this to bring conviction and she accepted Christ as her Savior. Since then, the Lord has given her a passion to worship Him with music and to share God’s love through the gifts and talents He has given her. She has a desire to help other Christians learn to use their abilities to glorify the Lord and build up the church. She became the Music Director at Oakland Baptist Church in April 2016. She loves many different styles of music and tries to incorporate a blend into the Sunday worship service.

Michelle has a degree in Music from Toccoa Falls College with a minor in Bible and Theology. While at Toccoa, she met her husband, Bryan. They were married in 2010. Michelle loves cooking, camping, and laughing at her husband’s antics.
