Busiest time of yearby Pastor Mike on November 1, 2019
Jane and I want to thank you for the love gift you gave us. It is our privilege to serve along side all of you. You are great people and we love you dearly. Our prayer is that God would continue to bless Oakland and to guide us in the next steps He has for us.
I want to thank all of you who played a part in the Fall Festival. It was great! We had over 500 people, our largest crowd to date. Everyone seemed to have a good time. We got good information for follow-up. Be in prayer that we can reach some of these people.
Many of you know our air system for the sanctuary has to be replaced. We are asking every member to do your part in giving toward this project above your tithe and building fund giving. The cost will be around $30,000. It will take a sacrifice for many, while others can write a larger check, but together we can see this completed.
Well, we are entering into the busiest time of the year with the Live Nativity and all the work that goes into it. Then there is the Christmas Bazaar and the Boston Butt sale. Our Thanksgiving meal, Thanksgiving, then, the Hanging of the Green, Live Nativity, all the parties, then Christmas. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with it all. But, you know as hard as the work is, it sure is rewarding work. We get to see people we haven’t seen in a while, smiles on faces, good food, laughter and some tears. The presentation of the Christ child, hearts warmed, maybe some changed forever. I don’t want to miss any of it. I look forward to seeing you at one, if not all of these events.
Serving the Savior,
