3 choices
by Pastor Mike Winfree on July 16, 2014Dear Church Family,
Have you ever noticed that when you hear the Word of God you always respond in one of three ways? You will rejoice because you have done, or are doing, what the Word of God says; or secondly, you will repent because what you heard brings conviction and you want to be right with God. The third and saddest choice is you run from God’s Word when you hear it because it is identifying something in your life that needs to change, but you refuse to surrender to it. Naturally, the first two are the best responses. Those that run or are not willing to face the problems in their lives are most miserable. Remember, the Lord Jesus loves us beyond measure and His goal is to bring peace and joy and fulfillment to your life, and that can only take place by us cooperating with Him. Don’t let Satan win in your life. Submit to the Lordship of Christ and enjoy the victory that is yours in Him.
II Timothy 3:16 says, “ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (or right living).” The Word of God is for our benefit. Read it, meditate on it, memorize it, live it, so you may rejoice in it.
Serving the Savior,
Pastor Mike
