Coming Togetherby Pastor Mike Winfree on October 27, 2021
Jane and I are so appreciative of the love gifts you gave us. We are so blessed to serve along side so many wonderful people. I can’t say it enough, how much I thank you for all each of you do here at Oakland. We accomplish a lot although we are few in number.
I want to thank each man that came to our year end steak dinner. It was a great time of fellowship, fun, and great steaks. Mike and Kim with disaster relief did a great job helping us with the prep and cooking the steaks. Thanks to James for his famous marinade.
I want to thank each person or families that signed up to participate in our Trunk or Treat. Without you it would not be possible.
Well, Thanksgiving is upon us. Because of Covid we have not been able to have our Thanksgiving meal together, but, I believe it is time to start it back. I have talked with Inez and since we did not have our annual homecoming, we are combining the two together. So, on November 21 after the morning service we will celebrate Thanksgiving and Homecoming. We are asking each family to bring a covered dish enough for your family and one more. The church will provide the chicken. We are celebrating 97 years this year and God has done some wonderful things over those years here. Let’s come together on that day and celebrate what God has done.
Hanging of the Green will be on November 28 during our evening service. It is a time where we all come together to decorate the sanctuary and kick off the Christmas season. We have made some changes this year, so don’t miss it.
I am thankful for each of you and I pray God would pour out His blessings to you and your family. Let’s pray much, be faithful to come together to worship Him. Invite a friend to come with you. May God continue to add to His kingdom.
Serving the Savior,
