Growing Pains
by Pastor Mike Winfree on September 3, 2019Dear Church,
Have you ever heard of growing pains? I’m not talking about the television show. I’m talking about pain in the legs of kids when they are growing. Parents rub the kid’s legs to ease the pain.
I bring growing pains up because as a church we are experiencing growing pains. We had a need for a college and career class and Chris and Kristy Mosely stepped up to lead it. Thanks guys. Then our youth are having record numbers and we had a need to create a middle school class. Brock and Lisa Bowden and Angela Dunlap stepped up to lead that group. Thanks again. We are having to clean out the maintenance room so they will have a place to meet. Then one of our adult classes “Living by Faith” had to move to a larger room because they ran out of space. To God be the glory, great things He hath done.
Also, I will begin a pastor’s class on October 6. This class will be for those who are not attending a Sunday School class and for guest. The purpose of the class will be to educate people about what we believe and to try to integrate them into other classes.
I will soon begin to meet our guest after our morning service in the back room of the sanctuary.
On September 28, we are going to show the movie “Facing the Giants”, weather permitting. We are hoping to put out 1500 flyers on Saturday, September 21 @ 10 am. All that can help will be appreciated.
Lastly, our Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday, October 20. We will celebrate 95 years here in this community. Let’s invite many to join us on that special day.
Serving the Savior,
Pastor Mike
