Homecoming 2019

by Pastor Mike on October 1, 2019

Dear Church,

Many of you will receive this before our movie night. A lot of work has gone into this activity already and we are believing God for a great night. What will help to make it great is for you, your family and your friends to be here. Bring your blankets and lounge chairs. We will provide hotdogs, popcorn and drinks. Thanks for being the church that comes together.

Well, Fall is here. Ha! That really means one thing, Homecoming. Let’s make it a BIG day. Let’s invite people to join us. Plan for extras as you prepare the food you will bring for dinner in the Family Life Center. We will be celebrating Oakland’s 95th year here at this spot. What will God do in the years to come? We are already planning for the 100th celebration!

Sunday, we will partake of the Lord’s Supper. It is to be a time when the church gathers together in one accord. It has always been a special time to me, to remember what the Lord Jesus did for me. May God unite our hearts this Sunday around His table.

Sunday is also change Sunday. Gather your change and let’s continue to work at retiring the debt of our Family Life Center. If we can pay off $80,000 per year, we can burn the note on our 100th Anniversary. It’s possible, but how bad do we want it. It will take major commitments and sacrifice, but what an accomplishment that would be.

As the choir and our middle schoolers sang Sunday, I believe something good is about to happen.

Serving the Savior,

Pastor Mike
