Life

by Pastor Mike Winfree on September 28, 2021

Dear Church,

Over the last several months I have had conversations with people about where they are in life, where they came from, where they see themselves going. I’m talking about people who are on a journey. Every person living is on a journey, and every person has a story to tell. Each person’s journey has a beginning and along the way there are twist and turns, bumps, valleys, mountain top experiences. There are happy times, sad times, times of uncertainty. There are many stops and starts, wrong turns, cautions. Many have no idea where the journey is leading them. For others they know without a shadow of a doubt. Some believe that life on earth is all there is and when you die it’s over. Some have believed in Jesus Christ and heaven will be their home when they die or Jesus returns to take them there. Others have been witnessed to, they have been told about Jesus who died for their sins but they refused to believe. They are on their way to hell whether they believe it or not.

No matter what, every life is on a journey and every person is moving toward their destination point. Now, for those of you who know you are saved, you have the  privilege to grow along the way of your saved journey. Our goal at Oakland is to see everyone growing in Christ. Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way to learn more about how to live a fuller life in Christ. We have resources to help you. We can even customize a plan for you. We have people who will meet with you and help guide you along the way. Jesus promises to fill you up if you will come hungry and thirsty. Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

Serving the Savior,

Pastor Mike
