Spirit of God

by Pastor Mike Winfree on August 1, 2019
Dear Church,
If you were here this past Sunday, you know the Spirit of God was in our service. He used Michelle, Altared Praise, the Choir and our instrumentalist to lead out in worship. He honored His word. To God be the glory, great things He hath done. Then we ended the day with our annual Chili cook-off and homemade ice cream competition. Thank you to all who prepared the place and the food. We had a number of guest.
Speaking of guest, recently I had some members come to me and tell me that they observed when guest come on Sunday morning and we have our greeting time, that very few of the members are seeking out the guest to welcome them. Folks, that should be the first thing all of us do.
I just had Toni print me out a report of Sunday School attendance for the last quarter. It revealed that 157 different people attended during that quarter, however, our average attendance was 94. That means 63 people only came once or twice. We need to do a better job of contacting people who attend. This church has great potential, but it takes hard work. Doing, doing, doing does not really matter unless we first care about one another. Let’s encourage each other to be who God wants us to be.
I believe this church can get over the hurdles that have been an obstacle for years. It will take all of us working   together. Everywhere you go invite people to be your guest on Sunday morning!
Serving the Savior,
Pastor Mike
