Sunday Morning Service

by Pastor Mike Winfree on August 26, 2021

Dear Church,

I know you have heard how hard it is for businesses to find people to work. Fast food chains can’t open the indoor dining for lack of workers. Trucking companies can’t deliver goods because of a shortage of drivers. I’m so thankful to our Lord and Savior that we have people willing to work and serve in the Lord’s work.

I was thinking what all it takes to get ready for morning worship. There’s time spent in prayer daily, meditating and studying the passage of scripture. There is music to be selected and communicated to those on the praise team and to the office for the bulletin. Slides have to be made for the service. Videos are put together to run before service. The music team practices to be ready for the worship hour. On Sunday, sermon notes are loaded on slides, more practice of the music. Things are prepared for showing the service online, ushers hand out bulletins and greet people. The security team is hard at work making sure everyone is safe. There is all the electronic components that have to be turned on and checked which doesn’t always work and has to be fixed. Then there’s the pew. They are checked each week for offering envelopes, pens, trash, The books are put back in order. The sanctuary has to be vacuumed, dusted and cleaned. I know I’m probably leaving out some things, but I wanted you to know what goes into having a worship service every time you come to worship. We do all we do for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Folks, this is one area of ministry. Multiply that many times over for all the other areas of ministry and you can see all the work being done. I say all of this to say Thank You to each and every one who gives of your time to help make sure we have successful ministries to the glory of God.

Serving the Savior,

Pastor Mike
