Dear Church Family,
We are in a series on the family on Sunday mornings. If you haven’t been able to be here for all of them, I would encourage you to watch them on our YouTube channel. Families need to be strengthened and Christian families should set the example to the world how Christ intended the family to be. I recently read an article by James Dobson. “Family Instability affects everyone, especially the children.” “The most vulnerable victims of family instability are the children who are too young to understand what has happened to their parents. That tragic impact on the next generation was graphically illustrated to me in a recent conversation with a 6th grade teacher. She was shocked to see the results of a creative writing assignment. They were asked to complete a sentence that began with the words “I wish.” The teacher expected she would get answers like wishes for bicycles, dogs and trips. Instead twenty of thirty kids made reference to the family. Here are a few of their answers.” “I wish my parents wouldn’t fight.” “I wish my mother didn't have a boyfriend.” “I wish I could get straight A’s so my father would love me.” “I wish I had one mom and one dad.” There were others I couldn’t put in here because they were too violent. How sad. Every family could stand a little strengthening.
Men, Father’s, don’t forget the breakfast on Father’s Day @ 8 am. Only 11 men have signed up thus far. We have many more men than that. It’s not just about the food, it’s the fellowship as well.
Invite a friend or a family and come Sunday.
