I want to thank each and every one who had a part in making Easter Sunday such a great day. I know a lot of hard work went into it. I am so thankful for all who serve at Oakland. I also want to thank all the men who went over to Doug and Julie Cross’ house to help paint. It was truly a blessed time. Serving others is what the Christian life is to be about.
May is another important month. It’s the month we celebrate our Mother’s. For me, all I have is the memories of my mother. She was a sweet and kind lady. She loved her family and was always sacrificing to make sure we had what we needed. Many of you still have your mother. Cherish the time you have with her. Honor her as the Bible teaches. On May 8th, Mother’s Day, I will start a series on the Family. It will continue until Father’s Day. It is a good time to invite families to church. Don’t forget ladies, the breakfast at 8:00 am that morning.
May is also the month we remember those who served our country and gave their lives. If you have a family member who gave their life for this country, we would like to honor them. Would you write their name, your relation to them, what branch of service and where they were when they gave their life for our freedom. We have been having a good number of guest, so, be sure to make them feel welcome by making the effort of greeting them. We have several that are considering making Oakland their church home.
Serving the Savior,
